The Sons of Norway Cultural Skills Program ‘provides a framework for learning about traditional and contemporary Norwegian culture.’ You can complete the units on your own, through a lodge or special class.  Login is required at the sofn.com site to obtain further details.

Annual Events

  • Syttende Mai Flag Raising: May 17th festival activities are normally held each year at the Dutch Canadian Centre/Home of the Scandinavians. Mark your calendar for May 17th!  – This event was held virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions. 2022 not entirely determiend as yet.

Cultural Skills Program

Solglyt Sons of Norway supports a number of special interest programs that encourage, develop and enhance skills related to Norwegian culture, language, folk art and handicrafts.  Members may participate in the international ‘Sons of Norway’s Cultural Skills Program’ that “provides a framework for learning about traditional and contemporary Norwegian culture.”  Visit www.sofn.com and look under Resources once you have logged in as a member.

Sub-Clubs

  • Norwegian Conversation Club – send inquiry via contact Solglyt page.  Paused due to COVID, it may return in 2022, but may be via Zoom.
  • Community Service – we volunteer in the community, however COVID is a concern.
